The Internal Complaints Committee of Suri Vidyasagar College is formed to raise awareness for the prevention of Sexual harassment of Students, Faculty members and Non-teaching staffs of our institution. The main objective of this Committee is to prevent Sexual harassment of woman at her workplace and to provide a secure physical and social environment in the institution.

The Committee organizes sensitization program on Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual harassment for the Students, Faculty members and Non-teaching staffs of the college. Our main focus is to inform the students of the prevailing laws and also the steps taken towards the safety of woman at workplace. They are also given suggestions on the possible measures to be taken to overcome the vulnerable situations. The committee takes prompt action whenever any such type of complaints received.
On 30.12.2024, our Committee organized a Seminar on awareness program for the prevention of Sexual Harassment at 1st Floor, Vidyasagar Bhavan, Suri Vidyasagar College
Topic: ‘A Systematic Primary Prevention Strategy for Sexual Violence Perpetration’
Our Respected Speaker, Shri Bipin Mukhopadhyay (Ex-WBHJS) introduced us the Visakha guidelines created by the Supreme Court of India to prevent and address sexual harassment at workplace. He mentioned in his speech about the various actions and gestures which are considered sexual harassment and few steps to overcome such uncomfortable situations. There were 122 participants in the Seminar. Students and faculty members responded very positively throughout the Seminar.
