The Department started its journey in 1947 with I.Com. B.Com (General) course started from 1954 & Honourse in Accountancy from 1962. The department is currently imparting Three -Year UG Degree Programme (General) and Four-Year Honourse Programme as per CCFUP in accordance with NEP 2020 (introduced in 2023) under the affliation of the University of Burdwan since 1960 in continuation of 3- Year UG General & Hons. degree Courses as per CBCS (Old). Present student intake of the department in honourse Programme with Major in Accounting & Management is 118 (One hundred and Eighteen) and in General Degree Programme with Major in Accounting & Management is 172 (One seventy two). Department organizes Dr. Tarun Kumar Mukherjee Memorial Lecture on the Memory of Former Principal Late Dr. Mukherjee Regularly. Commerce Section is affiliated to run in Evening Shift. Considering Safety and Security, present Couse is running in Morning Time.
